Tom Brindley is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brindley Engineering, a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm serving industrial clients across North America and international markets. Since founding the company, Tom has guided its growth from a specialized engineering practice into a trusted partner for asset-intensive industries, building a team of 200+ engineering professionals focused on helping clients improve reliability, safety, and long-term asset performance.
A registered Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states, Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a master’s Certificate in Construction Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Throughout a career spanning more than three decades, he has provided engineering leadership and technical expertise for clients in the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, power generation, manufacturing, and other process industries.
Recognized for his expertise in infrastructure reliability and asset integrity, Tom has helped organizations develop practical strategies for extending facility life, reducing operational risk, and maximizing return on capital investments. His work encompasses structural engineering, industrial facility assessments, maintenance and repair program development, capital project planning, risk-based asset management, and long-term infrastructure stewardship. He is particularly known for his ability to bridge engineering, operations, and maintenance disciplines to deliver solutions that improve both reliability and constructability.
Under Tom’s leadership, Brindley Engineering has supported hundreds of industrial facilities and critical infrastructure assets, helping owners and operators address aging infrastructure, improve asset performance, and make informed investment decisions. His approach combines sound engineering principles with a deep understanding of operational realities, enabling clients to balance safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
As an industry thought leader, Tom regularly shares insights on infrastructure reliability, asset management, facility life extension, and engineering best practices. His contributions have helped advance industry conversations around sustainable asset stewardship, risk management, and the long-term performance of critical industrial infrastructure.
Tom remains actively involved in guiding Brindley Engineering’s strategic growth while continuing to serve as a trusted advisor to facility owners, operators, and engineering teams seeking innovative solutions to complex infrastructure challenges. The company has grown from 10 people in the early 2000s to 200+ today.
